Shetty is a frequent subject of speculation regarding romance. However, she has remained tight-lipped whenever questions of marriage are posed to her.

Shilpa Shetty - Akshay Kumar:

Her previous relationships include an affair with actor Akshay Kumar, whom she met on the Main Khiladi Tu Anari set in 1994. The couple broke up in 2000 after he started dating Shetty's friend and fellow actress Twinkle Khanna after a previous indiscretion, and which led to Shetty's successful suing of Stardust magazine for publishing a "damaging" report about the affair.

Shilpa Shetty - Anubhav Sinha

In an interview for The Times of India, Shetty quashed rumours of a romance with film director Anubhav Sinha and claimed to have changed her mobile phone number in order to concentrate on her busy schedule. But in a later interview for The Sunday Mirror a friend of Shetty revealed that she was "in love" with Sinha and that he was her "soulmate", but that she could not be with him for fear of parental disapproval, social stigma (Sinha is married with two children, although currently separated) and adverse public perception. But the rumor died soon.

Shilpa Shetty - Imran Khan:

Rumours of a romance between the two sparked off after they were reportedly matched up at Elizabeth Hurley's wedding to Arun Nayar . However, Shilpa has laughed off the rumours and insisted that she only met the handsome cricketer-turned-politician for a minute over there.

"These rumours are so baseless. I met Imran for exactly a minute, I think," a website quoted her, as saying. "I went to the party as it was thrown by a very dear friend of mine," she added.

Imran was married to British heiress Jemima Goldsmith from 1995 to 2004. Khan, who is a good friend of Elizabeth Hurley, has previously been linked with Susannah Constantine, an English fashion guru, and style advisor.
